McCurtain County Emergency Management is the county’s public safety office, focused on disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across McCurtain County. It is known for posting severe weather alerts, road closures, flood watches, tornado warnings, evacuation notices, and other real-time safety information for residents.

The office also coordinates storm spotting, works on hazard mitigation, and communicates closely with local emergency services and municipal leaders. Its public-facing alert system includes Hyper-Reach notifications, giving the county a direct line for urgent updates when weather or other hazards threaten the area. In practice, that means a steady stream of practical, no-nonsense information designed to keep people informed before, during, and after an emergency, with the county’s emergency alert system at the center of it all.
