Full-Time Dispatcher

Broken Bow Police Department is hiring a full-time dispatcher. Requirements include being at least 18 years old, passing a background check, and completing a pre-employment drug screening. Once trained, the schedule includes rotating shifts with nights and weekends. New officers complete an 8-hour-per-day, 5-day-per-week training program for approximately two months or longer based on proficiency, and training may include weekends and holidays. Duties include answering phones, prioritizing and dispatching calls, accurately entering calls for service, filing paperwork, assisting officers, helping citizens in the lobby, working the jail, and becoming OLETS certified with a fingerprint check through OSBI.
