🧭 About Idabel

County seat with a dinosaur

Idabel started in 1902 as a railroad town. Its name joins two sisters, Ida and Bell. Today it's the McCurtain County seat, about 12 miles south of Broken Bow. See a cast of Oklahoma's state dinosaur at the free Museum of the Red River. Then head south to Red Slough, where more than 300 kinds of birds have been spotted and eagles are a common sight.
