🧭 About Broken Bow

The lumber town that started it all

Broken Bow began in 1911 as a company lumber town. It was named for the Nebraska home of the Dierks family. About 4,200 people lived here in 2020. U.S. 70 and U.S. 259 both cross town, so it's the front door for most trips north to the lake and cabins. Look for Dierks Street, and ask about the 1927 Dierks steam engine the city still keeps.

This page lists every business in the Reservation Destination directory that is inside Broken Bow's city limits: 109 businesses in all, including 9 places to stay, 21 places to eat and drink and 4 activities and attractions. The cabins and attractions up U.S. 259 are on the Hochatown, Broken Bow Lake and Beavers Bend pages. Tap any business for its hours, photos, phone number and directions.
