💡 Before you go
Tips for family photos at the cabin
Book early
Fall and holiday weekends fill up first. Message a photographer as soon as your cabin is booked.
Go for golden hour
The hour before sunset gives soft, warm light in the pines. Most photographers will suggest it.
Tell them your group size
Big families take longer to pose. Say how many people are coming so they plan enough time.
Coordinate, don't match
Pick two or three colors for everyone's outfits. Fall colors look great against the trees.
Ask about park permits
Want photos in Beavers Bend State Park? Ask your photographer if they need a park permit before you pick the spot.
Send clear directions
Cabin roads can be hard to find. Send the address, gate code and any tricky turns.
