The short answer
Yes. Hochatown and Broken Bow have hundreds of vacation cabins, and many are open over Christmas. The catch is that Christmas week books up early, so the sooner you ask, the more you can choose from.
Below are Book Direct cabins sorted by what families ask for at Christmas: room for the whole family, dogs welcome, a fireplace, a hot tub, and a game room for the kids. A cabin can show up in more than one list. Every cabin here books direct with the owner or manager, so you skip the booking-site fees and can ask your questions straight to them.
We don't know which dates are still open, and we don't know which cabins put up Christmas decorations. Ask the owner about both before you book.

Each of these has a fireplace in the living room, and some have a second one out on the deck. Several listings say their gas fireplaces only run in the cold months, about October 15 to April 15, so they're on at Christmas. A few are wood-burning. Ask the owner if firewood is included.

What's going on around Christmas
The big light display is Winter Wonderland at Broken Bow City Park, free and lit after dark every evening from December 5 to 27, 2026. It's about 20 minutes south of Hochatown on US-259, an easy evening drive from the cabin.

Before you book a Christmas cabin
Ask about the minimum stay. Many cabins ask for more nights over the holidays than on a normal weekend. Ask the owner what it is for Christmas week.
Ask about check-in day and time. Some cabins only start holiday stays on certain days.
Shop for groceries before Christmas Day. Walmart Broken Bow, 501 S Park Drive, has closed on Christmas Day in past years, and its 2026 holiday hours aren't posted yet. Most stores close early on Christmas Eve, so do the big grocery run a day or two ahead and call before you go.
Ask if the cabin is decorated. Some owners put up a tree, some don't. If it matters to you, ask, or bring a small tree and lights from home.

Tips for a Christmas cabin trip
Book early
Christmas week is one of the first weeks to fill. Ask the owner now, even if your plans aren't final.
Count beds, not just guests
"Sleeps 14" can include bunk beds and sofa beds. Ask how many real bedrooms there are.
Bringing the dog?
Look for "dogs OK" on the cards, and ask about size limits and pet fees.
Ask about the pool
If a cabin has a pool, ask if it's heated in December. Some only heat it part of the year.
Plan for cold nights
December nights in the hills can drop near freezing. Pack coats, and ask the owner what to do if it ices over.
Drive in before dark
The roads around Hochatown are dark and winding, and deer are out at dusk.
