🧭 River floats
The short answer
The best-priced kayak floats with a shuttle are on U.S. 70 east of Broken Bow, about 10 minutes south of Beavers Bend. Tippa Canoe and Skippa-Rock River Floats both rent a single kayak for a 4-mile float on the lower Mountain Fork River for about $30. Tippa Canoe drives you up to Mountain Fork Park, and you paddle back to their lot.
Inside the state park, Beavers Bend River Floats runs a shorter, calmer 2.5-mile trip of about an hour, with a shuttle to the put-in. It's open March 1 through October 31. Call for today's price.
Floats are a warm-season thing. Late in the fall, call the morning you want to go: hours change with the weather, and nobody can put you on the river when the dam is letting out a lot of water.

River rules and high water
Kids must be at least 6 years old and 42 inches tall to float the lower Mountain Fork. No glass or foam coolers on the river, and the 4-mile stretch is no-alcohol.
The water comes from Broken Bow Lake's dam. When the dam lets out 3,900 cubic feet per second or more, nobody is allowed on the river, and that can change with little warning. The water is cold all year, so bring a dry change of clothes.
