Is There a Service to Receive Amazon Packages for an Out-of-State Hochatown Cabin Owner?
Short answer: most out-of-state owners have packages shipped to the cabin and pay their cleaning or maintenance crew to bring them inside on the next visit. If you want a locked spot instead, the Idabel Post Office offers P.O. boxes with a street address that Amazon, UPS and FedEx can deliver to.
Packages for cabin owners
The short answer
The easiest way is to ship straight to the cabin and have the person who already goes there (your cleaner, handyman or cabin manager) carry the boxes in. Most turnover crews are at the cabin after every checkout, so ask them to add a quick package check to the visit. Many will do it for a small fee.
If you'd rather the boxes not sit on the porch, rent a P.O. box. The Idabel Post Office at 201 N Central Ave is on the U.S. Postal Service's list of post offices with Street Addressing, which lets Amazon, UPS, FedEx and DHL deliver to the box. Your helper can pick them up with a key.
The Broken Bow Post Office is closer to Hochatown, but it isn't on that list right now, so private carriers can't deliver to a box there. Ask at the counter if that changes.
- Easiest: Ship to the cabin, your cleaner brings it in
- Locked box: Idabel Post Office, 201 N Central Ave, (580) 286-2149
- Address format: 201 N Central Ave #(box number), Idabel, OK 74745
- Tip: Write delivery notes in your Amazon account
🧹 Most owners do this
Have your cleaning or maintenance crew take packages in
Your turnover cleaner, handyman or cabin manager is already in and out of the cabin. Ask them to check the porch or mailbox on each visit and put boxes in an owner's closet. Send them the tracking number so they know when to look.
If the package is big (a grill, furniture, a mattress), ask them about putting it together too. Some local crews also do repairs and furniture assembly between guests.
Between guest stays, a box on the porch is easy to see from the road. Time the delivery for a day your crew will be there, or ask Amazon to leave it out of sight.
📮 A locked spot
A P.O. box with a street address in Idabel
The Postal Service's Street Addressing service lets you use the post office's street address plus your box number, like "201 N Central Ave #59". Packages from Amazon, UPS, FedEx and DHL can then be delivered to your box. You sign a short customer agreement when you rent the box.
Idabel Post Office, 201 N Central Ave, Idabel, OK 74745. Counter hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Saturday 9:30 to 11 AM. The P.O. box lobby is open all day Monday to Friday. Phone (580) 286-2149.
Big boxes that don't fit go behind the counter, so your helper may need to pick them up during counter hours. Give them a key and ask the post office how they can pick up for you.
Use the "#" and box number exactly. The Postal Service says "Suite" or "Apt." won't work and mail may go back to the sender.

Tips for getting packages to your cabin
Add delivery notes
In your Amazon address book you can add notes for the driver, like where to leave the box or a gate code.
Use the cabin's full address
Some cabin roads are hard to find. Use the address your guests use, and add a landmark in the delivery notes.
Send the tracking
Text your cleaner or manager the tracking link so they know when to look.
Mark it for the owner
Put "OWNER" on the order name so guests don't open it.
Watch the weather
Summer heat and rain are hard on boxes left outside. Time deliveries for a day someone will be there.
